LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR

Doors Up
Interior
The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador ranks 2 out of 7 Exotic Sports Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 8 published reviews and test drives of the Lamborghini Aventador, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Reviewers are amazed by the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador’s raw power, nimble handling and high-tech interior. While the Aventador is significantly quicker from zero to 60 mph than competing exotic sports cars like theFerrari FF, it’s also significantly more expensive.
The 2012 Lamborghini Aventador wows reviewers with its bold, aggressive styling. And while the car’s dramatic exterior looks the part of an exotic sports car, reviewers say that the Aventador exceeds their expectations with its shocking performance.
The Aventador’s body is a carbon-fiber monocoque, which keeps its weight down, but Lamborghini says that it also makes it impressively rigid. That strong, lightweight body shell, combined with all-wheel drive and a suspension system that’s modeled after Formula 1 race cars adds up to an extremely agile car. But in addition to being nimble and light for its size, the Aventador is also exceptionally powerful.
The Aventador houses a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 700 horsepower. Lamborghini mates this powerhouse to a seven-speed automated manual transmission, and reviewers say that the acceleration is intoxicating. The Aventador features selectable drive modes that allow you to tailor performance for strada (road), sport and corsa (track) use, and test drivers like all three. They say that while the sport and corsa modes rocket this Lamborghini around the track with wrath-of-God performance, the Aventador is still relatively comfortable to drive if you’re just puttering around in strada mode.
Inside, most reviewers praise the dash, which features an LCD screen rather than gauges. This allows drivers to select different gauge views, but most auto writers are pleased to say that the virtual gauges have an analog look. Other design cues mimic a fighter jet, such as the starter button, which is housed under a cover that you have to flip back to engage. Overall, they say the interior is comfortable and roomy, but one reviewer notes that taller drivers may need to be mindful of the Aventador’s low roofline when climbing inside.
So, what’s the downside? Well, while the Aventador impresses reviewers and outperforms most other exotic sports cars, it will cost you close to $380,000, which is a hefty sum compared to most of the competition.

LAMBORGHINI HYBRID COMING IN 2015, NEXT-GEN MODELS AVAILABLE WITH EITHER AWD OR RWD

Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560

Following closely in the footsteps of its rival from Maranello, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed in an interview with German Automobilewoche magazine that the Italian purveyor of high-end supercars is working on a hybrid Gallardo. Not surprisingly, the electrically assisted Bull is expected to hit the market in 2015 – the same year as the upcoming fuel-saving Ferrari.

In contrast to the recently announced fully electric SLS Gullwing from Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini's eco-friendly efforts won't include replacing the traditional gasoline powerplant completely. Instead, Winkelmann suggests that a small electric motor would be used solely to get the car moving at low speeds, after which either the expected V10 or V12 engine would kick the fun into high gear.

Worry not, Lambo fans – there's no chance the company will lose focus on its high performance roots. In fact, the boys at Inside Line report that both the Gallardo and MurciĆØlago lines are destined to receive dedicated track-ready Balboni-style rear-wheel drive models to augment the automaker's already amazingly capable all-wheel drive supercars.

LAMBORGHINI INSECTA CONCEPT

Lamborghini Insecta concept

Playing a quick game of automotive-animal word association, you'd probably link Lamborghini to a bull. Between the emblem on the hood, supercars named after famous fighting bulls and the farming roots of the company, the association is well established. Iulian Bumbu thinks otherwise. The aspiring Romanian car designer, who interned at Alfa Romeo's styling department after earning his master's in car design in Milan, created the design study you see here.

Called the Insecta, the radical concept's design elements were borrowed from bugs instead of bovines.
Combining organic shapes with Lamborghini's trademark geometric angles, the Insecta concept integrates themes culled from the body armour observed on certain species of insects. With its dimensions and powertrain borrowed from the Gallardo, the Insecta would pack a sting as sharp as its buzz, and it could make a compelling successor to the current LP560-4 – but Lambo would have to drop a load of bull first.

RENEWAL OF A GREAT LAMBORGHINI TRADITION

Designed by Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Lamborghini Design, the “Concept S” is his extreme interpretation of an “open car”. Drawing inspiration from classic single-seater racing cars of the past, the 500 horsepower roadster is expected to debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Official Press Release
Lamborghini Concept S
18-02-2005
At the Geneva Motor Show, the House of the Raging Bull will present a new design study that renews a great Lamborghini tradition.
Like the 350 GTS and the Miura Roadster before it, the Lamborghini “Concept S” is a unique car, an extreme and spectacular expression of the Lamborghini brand.
Created at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese by Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Lamborghini Design, the “Concept S” is his extreme interpretation of an Ć¢€Å¾open car”. Using the Gallardo as a basis, Donckerwolke drew inspiration from the classic single-seater racing cars of the past to create this latest design study.
The classic single-seaters did not have a traditional windscreen, but utilised the so-called Ć¢€Å¾saute-vent” (in French: a sudden change in the wind) in order to direct air over the head of the driver - and so does the “Concept S”. These devices divide the cabin into two distinct compartments, giving the car an aggressive and futuristic look and also creating a space between them that acts as an additional air inlet for the powerful engine, which is positioned behind the seats.
An electronically controlled, retractable central rear view mirror allows the driver - when required - to see what is happening behind the car.
The aerodynamics of the “Concept S” have been optimised thanks to front and rear spoilers and a large rear diffuser.

2012 LAMBORGHINI REVENTON REVIEW

2012 Lamborghini Murcielago design based on the outgoing model. 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce shown here.
On the technical side of the 2012 Lamborghini Murcielago V12 regain power, but it is unclear if the engine is new or changed from the current four-cam, 48-valve 6.5-liter. In both cases, the updates should be involved in direct injection (to replace the multi-indirect), more accurate variable valve timing, intake and less restrictive exhaust plumbing, and perhaps even the function of stand- by stop-eye on the European Union, less CO2 emissions, reducing the force in 2011. Various sources estimate is 650-680 horses, compared with 661 U.S. and 632 of the LP640 MurciƩlago SV.

A total of 2012 Lamborghini Murcielago forms of building another car over-the-top super designed to confession too much is never enough. Wretched excess, especially in a recession? Maybe. Impractical? Without a doubt. (Trunk Space, one thing must remain in the absence literal.) But in the automotive world would be a much duller place without the charismatic car like this, so we can enjoy the ride when we can. In addition, a few Lambos do not have a big impact on reserves of fossil fuels to global warming.

LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO REVIEW

The latest development is the study of refinement MurciƩlago - Lamborghini took literally the best show, best handling and most beautiful car ever produced, and made even more powerful, better handling, and more beautiful.

The LP640 Roadster is a vicious cycle that their parents - the monstrous V12 now 640hp fire pumps and a 8500rpm red line. 00-60 time has been reduced to about 3.3 seconds blinking eyes. The interior is covered from head to foot carbon fiber accents and carbon ceramic brakes ensure that the massive braking power is in line with PTO (and 640hp is enough.)
