The concept will showcase a new design language is said to preview the next generation Lexus GS-Series sedan. limited information on cars were launched while the Lexus Twitter account Twitter principles "LF-Gh: .. Lexus LF = long term hybrid h = G = .... ... This may involve the brand new GS and although the LF-Gh use of hybrid technology.

As for the dimensions that 2012 GS go, Lexus says the new platform will use a stretched giving it a longer wheelbase than the current product. Measures for new design also mentioned to be wider than the current sedan. Meanwhile, the car will use new equipment operating units, similar engine but a set from the current design, although the size of the V6 engine is said to extend to four.0 liters. The Lexus LF-Gh concept will be announced April 19 concert in New York the motor. We have to wait and see all the details and what we can expect to see in the next Lexus GS, stay tuned.

Today, 2011 New York Auto Show Lexus has introduced its new LF-Gh Hybrid Concept, the concept of rear-wheel-drive is powered by Lexus Hybrid Drive transmission. Speculation is that the Lexus LF-A Concept Gh suggestions for the next generation Lexus GS sedan - however, Lexus says that the "Premier Grand Touring Sedan" features, which are transferred to vehicles of the future.

Design LF-Gh more aggressive and sharp, without leaving a feeling of luxury. Design LF-Gh inherited by future Lexus models.

LF-fitted inside Gh future of Lexus, where every detail has been designed to create an environment that is oriented toward the driver. The interior uses high quality materials, claims Lexus.

"Although only a concept, the LF-Gh hopefully resonate with his Lexus customers worldwide and communicate our intention to promote new ideas in the face of Lexus luxury in the coming years," said Kengo Matsumoto, General Manager Design Division Lexus, Toyota Motor Corporation

Interior 2012 Lexus LFA

For all that happy-talk marketing, 2012, the LFA is an injury to the Lexus lineup and had a complicated pregnancy. The program began in 2000, Lexus was the first concept car at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show. Subsequently, the convertible version appeared in Detroit in 2008, although it has since been canceled. Meanwhile, the LFA has been seen as prototypes for testing, the Nordschleife, and the two cars ready became a 24-hour race at the Nurburgring in 2008 and 2009.

The interior is modest, but tasteful. The car we drove was a mixture of leather, carbon fiber, Alcantara, and "satin-metal" adorn the cockpit. Lexus will offer seat covers in 12 colors of leather or 10 tons of spare Alcantara, with three choices of color for the roof in Alcantara. "Spacious" describes the cabin, although luggage space is minimal. supportive bucket seats have eight-way power adjustments, and the driving position is superb. Checks are minors so easy to find and use as a standard in the Lexus sedan, and LFA even the very operation of the mouse style for its multi-function center console screen, as in a sport-ute RX350.

2011 LEXUS

So you think you know Lexus, do you?
Well…….maybe not.
Three letters: L. F. A. LFA. Remember those letters. They are about to change the image of Lexus forever.
At a price of abut $375,000, the closest most of us will come to an LFA will be a lovely scale model by Maisto or AutoArt. But even then, we expect many a scale model collector will gladly dust off a parking space in a cabinet for it.
LFA, the flagship for the F portfolio of Lexus performance models is the fastest Lexus production car ever built and the company promises that it will deliver world-class design, performance, and cutting-edge technology. The LFA is only available as a two-year lease with the intent to purchase. Only 500 LFA will be built worldwide.
“The LFA has more passion and character than any Lexus built and we’re excited that we’re finally able to give U.S. customers official pricing,” said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager.
All LFAs will be hand-built to customer specifications and production will begin December 2010. Customers will be able to choose from three-configurations included in the base MSRP:
Configuration 1 – Leather or Alcantara®-trimmed seats.
Configuration 2 – Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System and Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system.
Configuration 3 – Leather or Alcantara-trimmed seats, Lexus Navigation System, Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system, and Lexus Enform™ with Safety Connect™.
Customers will be able to customize the LFA with 30 exterior colors, six brake caliper colors, and 12 interior colors. Some choices carry an additional cost.
The Lexus LFA is exclusively powered by a sophisticated new high-revving 4.8-liter V10 engine that generates 552 horsepower at 8,700 rpm and 354 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 6,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a unique six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) with paddle shifters that enables ultra-quick gear shifts (0.2 seconds) with four driving modes – AUTO, SPORT, NORMAL and WET for exceptional versatility.
Lexus’ supercar accelerates from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 202 mph thanks to an independently controlled throttle body for each cylinder, high-volume 12-hole injectors, dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), low-friction engine components, and equal length exhaust manifolds.
Lightweight, powerful and balanced, the LFA features advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) construction for its chassis and bodywork to deliver a light, incredibly strong and impact-resistant structure. To help provide superior handling and braking and traction control the LFA features track-tuned lightweight aluminum alloy suspension components; six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers to grip the Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brake rotors; and a specially calibrated Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system.
Of course a supercar has to have super styling, and most car writers agree Lexus hit it out of the park on this score.  It’s sleek, powerfuoly built, and embodies penjt-up power and energy. And there are plenty of unique styling cues that you won’t mistake for any of the growing number of supercars that have been introduced recently. A particularly nice touch are the BBS® 20-inch forged-aluminum 10-spoke wheels available in three different finishes.
“After years of development, Lexus is able to offer driving enthusiasts an exciting and exclusive combination of performance and luxury in a sleek supercar package. It’s thrilling to know that in about a year, you just might see one driving down the street,” said Mr. Templin.
CT200h
The new Lexus CT200h premium compact is a whole new kind of car for the luxury brand. It’s a hybrid yes, but a sporty, fun to drive one. And that can’t be all bad for Lexus, which has been spiffing up its pizazz quotient of late with products such as the rarefied LFA super luxury/performance coupe, and before that, the IS-F.
“The CT 200h combines luxury features, eye-catching styling, and driving excitement that we know will attract a whole new buyer to the Lexus brand,” one luxury official said.
Power will come from Lexus’ tried and true Lexus Hybrid Drive system.
The CT 200h features a 1.8-liter gas engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), a high performance battery, power control unit, transmission with an electric motor generator, a power split device to re-allocate power from the engine and electric motor generator according to operational requirements.
Four drive modes enhance the capabilities of the CT 200h’s Lexus Hybrid Drive technology and change the rate of throttle opening for a given throttle-pedal angle. EV mode allows for ultra-quiet running on electric motor power alone. Normal mode has an essentially linear throttle response while Eco mode reduces throttle response relative to the pedal angle and adjusts air conditioning settings to emphasize fuel economy.
The Sport mode provides a more responsive throttle and modifies the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) settings to give a faster response to driver inputs.
As you might expect, fuel economy and efficiency were paramount in designing this car, Lexus says, so “ particular attention has been paid to the aerodynamic efficiency of every aspect of the CT 200h’s design. The front and rear corners have been pulled in tight to improve the flow of air down the sides of the vehicle and minimize wind turbulence within the wheel arches. The sides of the cabin have been tapered, the rear edge of the roof lowered and even the lower body painstakingly detailed to optimize airflow.” The CT 200h also features 17-inch alloy wheels and blue badging specific to Lexus hybrid vehicles.
The interior features lots of metallic finishes and dark, soft touch materials.
Lexus says in spite of the compact size, “the CT 200h does not compromise interior roominess. Its long, 102-inch wheelbase offers front and rear seat passenger accommodation that is amongst the most spacious in the segment.”
Prices and fuel economy figures are not yet known.
So what’s up with the rest of the Lexus lineup this year?

Perhaps most important, all 2011 Lexus gas models will receive a standard new brake override system as an additional measure of consumer confidence. The braking system enhancement will automatically reduce engine power when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are applied simultaneously under certain driving conditions.
IS 350
Until now, it was the IS series that carried the Lexus brand into younger, livelier territory. This series also has Lexus’ only convertible.
The big change for this year for the IS 350 is the addition of a 306-horsepower all-wheel drive (AWD) model. IS enthusiasts will now have the traction and grip of all-wheel drive with the IS 350’s higher performance capability.
New HID headlamps with LED daytime running lamps are standard on the IS 350 and available for the IS 250. In addition, a new front grille and bumper highlight the IS sedans, while at the rear, it sports a new taillamp cover and revised tailpipe design. The IS models will also feature newly designed 17-inch and optional 18-inch wheels, along with revised exterior choices.
A new F Sport Package for the IS 250/350 rear-wheel drive (RWD) models will have special suspension tuning and 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark super-chrome finish. The F Sport package also includes a front lip spoiler and rear deck spoiler, a matching dark chrome front grille insert, F Sport badging, and the addition of Ultrasonic Blue Mica to the exterior colors.
For the interior, unique front seats feature a special microfiber insert and leather side bolsters to provide grip for the driver and passenger during cornering and F Sport badging to the steering wheel.
LS series
In most people’s minds, this is the Lexus that most people think of when you mention the brand.
In keeping with the company’s policy of making refinements whenever possible, the LS 460 suspension has been modified for all-wheel drive models, which will now have standard coil suspension for comfortable everyday driving and optional air suspension systems to give drivers the chance to adjust for their current driving situations.
ES series
The ES has been getting a lot of new competition and pressure from new to the field brands like Buick’s fabulous LaCrosse, and soon, Chrysler’s all new 300 and of course, Hyundai’s Genesis. For that reason it would be unwise to sit on its laurels. And that’s just what Lexus intends not to do.
Instead they are adding some changes likely to be welcomed by consumers in these tough times. Owners of the ES 350 will enjoy a few more dollars in their pockets with a change from 91-octane to 87 octane gasoline.
The ES 350 will receive an EPA fuel economy estimate of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 on the highway. A new exterior color, Deep Sea Mica, replaces Black Sapphire Pearl.
GS series
It’s a quiet year for the GS series. The year 2010 brought some changes, but the main one for 2011 is the standard a brake override system. The braking system enhancement will automatically reduce engine power when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are applied simultaneously under certain driving conditions.
The GS gas luxury sport sedan comes in three models – GS 350 rear-wheel drive (RWD), GS 350 all-wheel drive (AWD) and GS 460 RWD. Optimized for low internal friction, the GS 350′s 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 303 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 274 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 3,600 rpm.
A direct fuel-injection system provides much finer fuel-mixture control to improve both power and fuel efficiency. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) acts on both intake and exhaust valves to further enhance performance through a wide rpm range. A smooth-shifting six-speed transmission allows sequential shifting when desired.
The GS 460′s V8 produces 342 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 339 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,100 rpm. The GS 460, like the GS 350, meets the EPA’s Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) certification. Lexus has been setting standards for powertrain smoothness since its inception, and the GS 460′s V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission continue that tradition.
The transmission, like the six-speed automatic in the GS 350 models, allows manual shifting for a more engaging driving experience, and helps to maximize performance in certain driving situations. The GS 460 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the GS 350 in 5.7 (5.8 for AWD).
RX350
The 2011RX 350 receives standard a brake override system as an additional measure of consumer confidence. The braking system enhancement will automatically reduce engine power when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are applied simultaneously under certain driving conditions.
New exterior colors are offered to complement the RX 350’s refinement. Satin Cashmere Mica replaces Golden Almond Metallic. Stargazer Black is added to the palette, while Truffle Mica and Black Sapphire Pearl are discontinued.
Engine/Transmission/Drivetrain/Performance
The Lexus RX 350 teams a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a six-speed Multi-Mode Automatic Transmission for an output of 275 horsepower at 6,200 rpm.

Five reasons to buy this car 1. Entry level Lexus 2. You want Prius cache with a Lexus badge 3. Be the first on your block 4. Practical besides hybrid economy 5. Very nice compact car package
The Bottom Line: Lexus is betting that the market will soon be strong for a compact hatchback Lexus hybrid that is essentially the same as a Prius, but with a Lexus badge. The CT200h has the possibility of being a big winner, or of being Lexus’s Edsel if the market doesn’t come to it.

Lexus claims the compact entry level luxury hybrid market today amounts to about 500 cars per month. It expects that market to double with the introduction of the Lexus CT200h hybrid in early 2011. The challenge for Lexus is to: a) create the demand for that many vehicles, and 2)  convince people that a hatchback Lexus isn’t an anachronism. It’s a big challenge.
Despite the many advantages of the CT200h (it has essentially Prius underpinnings, so its heritage is good), the car is still saddled with unusual styling.  It’s a hatchback Lexus, as we said, and that ain’t all bad. But there’s also an odd triangular-shaped window that appears to have no function other than provide a view into the cargo area. It doesn’t help rear seat passengers see out, so one wonders why it’s there.
Okay, enough carping. Behind the wheel the CT200h has a quiet ride, depending on road surfaces. Like many small cars, ride silence (or lack of it) is dependent on road quality; decent road, decent silence, concrete or otherwise, noisy ride.
This is not a fault of the CT200h per se, just a complaint about many small cars in general, and it may be the fault of the tire manufacturers.
The hybrid motor (gasoline engine and electric) combine to provide decent power when needed. If you need acceleration, it’s there, unless you’re drag racing a Shelby Mustang or its ilk. We also found that on the Florida highways we drove in our test, fuel economy was decent, 42 mpg. Other journalists had numbers in the 50s, so that’s a good sign.
The front seats offer excellent side support, belying the rather normal handling of the CT. Granted, Florida doesn’t have super winding roads (and almost no hills), so we didn’t challenge the car that much, but handling was decent.
Seat fabric is of a new material called NuLuxe, which simulates leather quite well. It’s hard to tell it from the rear thing. I’ll bet cows are happy.

My co-driver and I were impressed by the very good HVAC system with handy controls that are well integrated into the dash. The audio system, however, seems like an afterthought in a non-navigation system car. It’s worse in navigation system-equipped cars. There are no presets without having to go to the navi screen. Whatever happened to plain old push buttons?
The navi system itself rises from the dash and can be lowered, so if you’re not using it, it isn’t a distraction.
On the console is a rotary control that you use to switch among modes. It isn’t a sophisticated system like in the Infiniti or BMW models, but it does the job. It’s easy to learn.
For audio, there’s a USB/AUX and+12V connection in the center console. there’s also a small “key” holder ahead of the U
SB/AUX. Ahead of that is a cubby to fit a Garmin holder. A nice c\small cubby to its left holds the navi controls.  The second row seat folds flat for more cargo capacity. When it’s up, you can stow roll-on luggage in the trunk. The rear seat also offers good legroom.
Among the many challenges facing Lexus with the CT200h are getting people to use “fun to drive” and “luxury hybrid” in the same sentence. The designers focused on handling and ride comfort, and while we didn’t severely test the handling, we did enjoy the ride comfort.

NEW LEXUS CONCEPT

The Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept will make its global debut at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. Lexus officials say we may expect quite a number of the styling cues and themes to show up on future Lexus models, but since this one looks production ready, could it be that we are seeing the next LS flagship or GS sport luxury sedan here?  Place your bets!
The concept, which sets out to redefine the premium grand touring sedan, will be at the Lexus display through May 1.
“For this concept, Lexus designers studied characteristics that are often considered contradictory and difficult to execute together,” said Kengo Matsumoto, general manager, Lexus Design Division, Toyota Motor Corporation. “The captivating design of the LF-Gh concept examines the possibility of balancing what are normally opposing qualities, such as style and functionality.”

A news release says, “Working with a clean sheet of paper, Lexus Design Division designers aimed to perfectly blend style, performance, efficiency, and environmental compatibility in a premium, grand touring sedan while trying to leverage advanced, new technologies. The team explored how a future grand touring sedan would look standing still and on the road, and what design approaches might work to convey an extraordinary combination of attributes. They came up with a design that unites hard and soft; and energetic and soothing elements.”
You might recall that Lexus’ styling theme in recent years has been L-Finesse, and we are to think of the concept as a refinement and evolution of that theme, which has been carried out on all recent Lexus redesigns since 2001.
“Customers have been waiting for a bold concept like this from Lexus,” said Mark Templin, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. “We look forward to their feedback and integrating some of these exciting design features into future Lexus vehicles.”

In keeping with a number of the most recent Lexus models, there’s a strong emphasis on performance in the LF-Gh.
“The LF-Gh was designed to be a high-performance concept capable of providing a moving driving experience, and comfortably transporting multiple occupants at higher speeds on long-distance drives. It combines a strong sense of presence and emotional appeal with functional attributes, supplying enhanced creature comforts plus the practical ability to transport personal supplies and luggage necessary for extended travel. Even while maintaining serene passenger comfort, it is a car designed to inspire and captivate the driver as hours behind the wheel accumulate.”
One  area which really came in for a lot of  attention was lighting design.  Most auto enthusiasts know that one of the biggest trends in recent years has been theuse of lighting as specific trademarks for cars–as a kind of personal jewelry if you will.
Lexus says that with the LF-Gh, the “LED lighting hints at the range and scope of new materials, electronics and dynamic systems that endow this concept vehicle with state-of-the-art performance, driving control, and safety features.”

Future Lexus models apparently will be getting a new “family” of grilles, if the front end of the LF-Gh is any indication.  The new design may be a spindle-shaped grille that Lexus says ” expresses the resolute face of Lexus, contributes to radiator and brake duct function, and is an essential element in achieving excellent aerodynamic performance.  Every line in the LF-Gh combines form and function.”
Lexus designers took advantage of increased width that provides an expansive canvas for distinct, wrap-around LED tail lamps. The use of distinctive tail lamps and intricately designed reflectors behind all-red lenses contribute to a strong visual presence. Judicious use of slim chrome trim elements in the bumper exhaust and integrated diffuser adds a subtle premium touch.
Unique LED headlamps and independent L-shaped LED daytime running lights assure that the Lexus face will be like no other car on the road.

So what is the interior like?
“Behind dark tinted glass, hints of an all-new, future Lexus interior can be perceived. The cabin of the LF-Gh is the product of a meticulous re-examination of every detail, with the aim of making an interior that is driver-oriented.
The driver’s zone includes a meter panel with excellent visibility and a console with intuitive operability. An all-new analog clock with a three-dimensional face, a contemporary and exclusive timepiece suitable to a premium luxury brand, is a focal point of the interior and represents a shift in Lexus’ design philosophy. The use of genuine, high-quality materials and rich, finely honed details help create a driver and passenger space consistent with the idea of a full-fledged grand touring sedan. It is an interior designed to respond to the needs of customers who know true quality, and are particular about detail,” a news  release says.

As for the power train, Lexus says that the ” blue LED Lexus Hybrid Drive badges located on the front grille and rear trunk lid signal an intention to provide equal measures of fuel efficiency and performance on demand. The rear valance blends sculpted exhaust tips for a very clean, finished look, minimizing the presence of the exhaust system to suggest that the flow of exhaust gas will be substantially reduced. Taken as a whole, the treatment emphasizes that this hybrid concept is designed to comply with the exceptionally low emissions requirements of the future. ”

LEXUS IS 250/220D

Lexus IS 250/220d

The Lexus IS is probably the best car that Lexus makes in terms of all-round performance – especially as this Lexus sports a diesel variant. Ride and handling are very, very good – there’s just a slight feeling that this isn’t the most involving machine in the world.
  • Comfort

Ride, even in this smallest Lexus, is brilliant. Great damping means that the IS can iron out pretty much anything the below-average road can throw at it. BMW edges it in terms of outright roadholding, but the IS250 especially really sorts the men from the osteopaths on a dodgy bit of broken motorway. Long distances are a joy.
  • Performance

Just over 200bhp (204 to be exact) for the 2.5-litre V6 doesn't really do the experience justice; creamy smooth, and it fits with the six-speed auto like a mechanical hand in an oily metal glove. For the sprint you're looking at 8.1 seconds and a 144mph top speed. The 2.2-litre, 175bhp diesel is less refined (but getting on for best in class), has a six-speed auto and still provides perfectly relevant real-world speed.
  • Cool

Understated, but a genuine competitor to default-buy BMW ownership. Quiet cool.
  • Quality

This Lexus feels supremely screwed together and there are some really very quality materials to hand, but there's a chance you'll still trip over Japanese-spec wood that looks like it's been made from the finest quality plastic.
  • Handling

Rear-wheel drive and fleet of foot, the IS makes the most of what it's got in either petrol or diesel form. The diesel feels a little nose-heavy when you start to get really enthusiastic, but both cars maintain that classy edge that European front-drive saloons just can't replicate. The steering's not the most feelsome, but this is a nimble, sporty saloon.
  • Practicality

The IS is a practical enough thing - there's plenty of space for four or five at a push and the boot is reasonable at 378litres, but the IS isn't class-leading for space.
  • Running costs

The petrol gets a reasonable 28.8mpg, the diesel a good 10mpg more. Insurance is relatively cheap at group 13 and residuals are good. You're also looking at undercutting the equivalent Beemer or Merc by a grand or so.

LEXUS GS 300/430

The Lexus GS is a large saloon. Not the prettiest of lumpen beetles for those who consider themselves to have normal eyesight, but the driving experience is both satisfying and silent, in a slightly techy way.
  • Comfort

So it won't cream a BMW when it comes to drilling an apex, but it will make you painfully aware that where a 5-series winds you up by encouraging you to go faster, the GS will de-stress you with the gentle sound of silence. Run over pedestrians and you'll be isolated from their screams by superb insulation and the bump thump of jaywalkers passes under the wheels virtually unnoticed.
  • Performance

Flavours of basic GS come in two versions; the 245bhp 3.0-litre V6 and the slightly more potent 279bhp 4.3-litre V8. Both get a brilliant six-speed auto 'box that slurs gears better than a drunk slurs words. You'll be looking at a 0-62mph time of 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 148mph for the smaller engine and a sprint of 6.1 and 155mph limiter for the V8. No diesel though...
  • Cool

Respected for its tech ability, but too damn ugly to be cool.
  • Quality

Built with a wonderfully anal attention to detail. Even other premium marques look at Lexus panel gaps and wince. The GS is a car that seems to try very hard at feeling well put together, and then fails slightly for us Europeans by tripping over small cultural differences. For instance, some of the interior colour combinations look cheap and the wood is so over-processed it looks like plastic. It is also one of the few modern cars in production with a cassette player in the dash. No, really.
  • Handling

Can't hold a candle to the handling capabilities of the premium Teutons, but the GS can fling its rather lardy bottom around with surprising alacrity once you've got the hang. It's never particularly encouraging about going fast though - any car this heavy on the servo-assistance isn't that keen on making you ‘at one' with the blacktop.
  • Practicality

The GS is big, but space in the rear for larger people can get a bit claustrophobic thanks to that rotund rump. The boot is similarly weird; it's big but very long, so you almost have to climb inside to retrieve anything that's rolled to the back. Huge 84-litre fuel tank makes range very reasonable.
  • Running costs

The base model gets a reasonable group 16 insurance but only 28.8mpg. The V8 is group 17, and gets under 25mpg. Neither score well for emissions output (high tax), and there's no diesel sop to duck under. Residuals aren't great.

LEXUS IS F

Lexus IS F

The first-ever Lexus with soul? The IS-F is a genuinely rival for the BMW M3, Audi RS4 and Merc C63. Now that’s a compliment…
  • Comfort

The trade-off for the tight, responsive suspension is a kidney-jolting ride around town. The monster noise from that five-litre V8 will go down well with the kids, but might get a bit wearing if you’re trying to ferry your mother-in-law to the train station. But who is it more important to impress?
  • Performance

Right up there with the best of the super-saloons. The Yamaha-fettled five-litre V8 produces 417bhp and 371lb ft of torque, and will fire the IS-F to 62mph in just over five seconds. That’s truly quick. No safety-first four-wheel drive here, either – all that power is going straight to the rear tyres. Just the way we like it.
  • Cool

Definitely cooler than the Alan Partidge-connotated IS, but looks like it’s trying just a bit too hard…
  • Quality

Why do you think it took Lexus so long to get this onto the road? You just know they’ll have been making sure that every bolt, washer and button is as tight and unbreakable as it possible could be. If anything goes wrong with your IS-F, we’ll eat our laptops.
  • Handling

The best-handling Lexus ever. No question. The steering is direct, and the suspension – though simply a retuned version of the set-up from the standard IS – is brutally firm but incredibly responsive. Eight-speed gearbox operates brilliantly in full auto mode, but can get a bit thumpy on downshifts when you’re in manual…
  • Practicality

Every bit as practical as the BMW M3 and C63 AMG. An Audi RS4 Avant might just edge it, though. How about an estate version then, Lexus?
  • Running costs

Erm… 24mpg and 270g/km CO2 aren’t going to impress your bank manager. Neither is the Group 20 insurance. But you shouldn’t worry about little things like that…
